Branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) biosynthetic pathway. Acetolactate synthase (ALS) catalyzes the first step of biosynthesis of BCAAs. Imazamox blocks the synthesis of valine, leucine, and isoleucine by inactivating the ALS enzyme [].
